DescriptioWhen teeth are straight, they look great! However, this is not the only reason why it is a good idea to fix your teeth. Crooked teeth and bad bites have lasting damage on the structure of your teeth. This happens because the wear and tear on your teeth is uneven and incorrect.
The sooner your teeth are treated, the less likely you are to experience complications:
Interference with proper chewing
Hindrance to teeth and gum cleaning increasing the risk of tooth decay and gum infections
Increased strain on teeth, jaw and muscles, heightening the risk of chipping and tooth breakage
Reduced self-esteem and poor self-image resulting from a lack of confidence in appearance
Grinding of teeth and clenching of the jaw resulting in joint pain and headaches
Speech impediments
Breathing difficulties relating to disturbed sleeping patterns
Numerous studies have shown that when you improve your smile, it increases your smiling! This impacts your physical, mental and emotional well-being. Stress levels reduce, cognitive processing improves and self-confidence peaks. Fixing your teeth transforms more than just your smile.n text goes here

Fitting braces is not painful. A few hours after fitment, your teeth start to move and they can become sensitive. While your mouth gets used to your new braces, your tongue, cheeks or lips sometimes get a little irritated for a few days as they are unfamiliar with the new attachments.
Most commonly, people experience this discomfort for 3-4 days. Concelo staff are on hand to advise you. We will adjust your braces at follow up appointments.
-
Most definitely! Hidden braces are as effective as traditional braces. In cases, they yield better results. The treatment time remains like that of traditional braces.escription

Average treatment times are between 12 and 16 months. However, this is partly dependant on the patients’ maintenance of hardware, elastics and consistent appointment attendance.
-
You will need adjustments to your braces every 6-10 weeks. The duration of these appointments will be between 15 and 45 minutes.
You will need to follow strict instructions regarding elastic wear and oral hygiene given by the Concelo team.
You will need to make regular visits to your family dentist.

We do our best not to remove any of your teeth. Advancements in orthodontic techniques has significantly reduced the need for this procedure. We would only do this as a last resort. Should you need any teeth removing, the Concelo team would consult with you about the procedure and support you on the journey to creating your perfect smile.
-
If fitting braces to your teeth is not enough to correct your bite, surgery would need to be considered. This only happens in extreme cases. If a person’s over-jet or under bite (the relationship between the upper and lower jaw) is extensive, a maxillo-facial surgeon can correct it. The surgery would take place most commonly 12-14 months into your teeth treatment.
The procedure corrects skeletal abnormalities, brings a dramatic improvement in facial appearance and consequently yields a more stable result.
Should you need surgery, the Concelo team would consult with you about the procedure and support you on the journey to creating your perfect smile.

Your teeth will remain straight if you look after them properly. Your teeth have memory. After your braces are removed, you will be given two types of retainers. A fixed retainer and a removable retainer. Long-lasting, straight teeth depend on wearing these retainers as instructed by the Concelo team.
During the retention phase of your treatment, you will need to visit the orthodontist every 6-12 months. Adult patients are monitored for at least 2 years. Younger patients will be seen until their growth is complete. Removable retainers normally need replacement about once a year irrespective of the patients’ age.
Please note: Noncompliance regarding retainer wear will result in undesirable tooth movement.

First appointment
At your first appointment, a short clinical examination will take place. We do this to establish whether orthodontic treatment is indicated. We will take comprehensive photographs and x-rays to ensure you get a detailed treatment plan.
Second appointment
At your second appointment, you will have a chat with your orthodontist. They will propose an explained treatment plan and talk about a fee structure in detail. A first and second appointment can sometimes be done at the same time.

At your third appointment, your braces are fitted. Your appointment is likely to be in the morning. It could take up to two hours.
